Upcoming Community Conversation – Why Data Matters: Using Data to Advance Equity

Join us on March 8th at 12p PT for the next Cradle-to-Career (C2C) Community Conversation. As C2C works to build the most inclusive data system in the nation, we want to ensure the topics we discuss are engaging and of interest, and we heard from *you* that you want to talk about the importance of using data to advance equity.

This Community Conversation will focus on why data matters, with a panel discussion featuring Cradle-to-Career Advisory Board Members Christopher Nellum, Executive Director of The Education Trust–West, and Vikash Reddy, Vice President of Research at the Campaign for College Opportunity, who will provide key insights from their work.

Recap – Cradle-to-Career’s February 8th Board Meeting

Cradle-to-Career’s Governing Board meetings are public and one of the main ways for community members to engage in C2C’s work, but we know not everyone has seven hours to dedicate to watch an all-day meeting. As we center accessibility, our meetings are now available with Spanish and American Sign Language interpretation. We’ve also provided an overview of our board meeting, highlighting key discussions and topics to make it easy to find the information you need.

Student Experience Audit

C2C is mandated to conduct a student experience audit annually, which will surface the barriers and issues that students face as we work to build the data system.
Conducted in partnership with WestEd in Fall 2022, the first student audit focused on learning about the experiences of high school students from frontline educators and identified pain points and challenges as well as promising practices for improvement that can be addressed through the use of existing practical tools like We look forward to conducting an even more robust student experience audit later this year to hear directly from students.
