The California Cradle-to-Career Data System (C2C) conducted its largest-scale study to date to hear directly from students.
C2C partnered with the California Education Lab at the University of California, Davis and the California Student Aid Commission to create a survey for students transitioning to college. More than 11,000 students responded. The survey asked questions about:
- The college and financial aid application process
- What kind of support they received
- The challenges they faced along the way
- Their expectations for college
Respondents emphasized the importance of high school workshops, counselors, and staff as critical resources for helping them transition to college. This sentiment was especially true for students who were first in their family to attend college.
The annual Student Experience Report informs C2C’s work in developing and refining data-driven tools for all Californians.
