Announcing Our New Logo

C2C Staff | June 28, 2023

The Office of Cradle-to-Career (C2C) Data was signed into legislation in July 2021, and as a new state entity, C2C has the unique opportunity to build the Office from the ground up, which includes not only launching the data system but establishing a vibrant and cohesive brand identity that reflects the vision and mission of the Cradle-to-Career data system.

Meet the new C2C logo

We wanted a design that conveyed we are data-driven, and that while the work is serious, the brand is inviting and approachable. But most importantly, we wanted to hear from YOU. We presented potential branding during Community Conversations and solicited feedback from the public in real-time and via survey. We also engaged our Community Engagement Advisory Board and Governing Board, and in partnership with the talented Collaborative Communications, synthesized input and iterated images based on stakeholder feedback to finalize a logo that visually communicates C2C’s work and goals.

The official Cradle-to-Career logo is colorful and dynamic, exemplifying the state of California. The stylized double Cs of “Cradle-to-Career” are bar charts, embracing C2C’s focus on data. And the logo creates a sense of movement, illustrating the journey from Cradle to Career.

California Cradle-to-Career Data System

And you may have noticed a slight update to our name. As we entered into our branding work, we wanted to engage C2C’s key audiences to ensure our name truly reflects the state’s landmark investment and goal to help Californians build more equitable futures and empower individuals to reach their full potential.

We also gauged thoughts on Cradle-to-Career’s official name and tagline to make sure our name reflects the work of C2C. In our Community Conversations and Advisory Board meetings, we asked stakeholders to share their feedback on words or phrases that came to mind when thinking about the system. The overwhelming majority of respondents confirmed terms like Data and System resonated with users and provided clarity – fewer people are likely to misinterpret the organization’s work.

The official C2C logo and name lays the foundation of the Cradle-to-Career brand, and we have engaged a new graphic designer who will help streamline our visual identity, so stay tuned for what’s to come!
