Community Conversations

The Cradle-to-Career team continues to make significant progress toward establishing the country’s most comprehensive data system, and we want to ensure community members are aware of and involved in the process. We regularly engage the public through interactive webinars, known as Community Conversations, to inform development, interpretation, and awareness of the data system, and foster an environment and culture of collaboration.

Advisory Board

Two advisory boards will provide opportunities for data users to help improve the Cradle-to-Career System. Advisory board members were appointed by the Governing Board and include people who use the Cradle-to-Career System, including practitioners, families, students, adult learners and workers, community organization staff, research organization staff, and advocacy organization staff.

C2C Community Engagement Advisory Board Meeting

The Community Engagement Advisory Board will create strong feedback loops with data users to support evidence-based decision making, analytical capacity, and equitable access to actionable information.

Governing Board

The Cradle-to-Career Governing Board includes representatives from data providers, policymakers, and the community. The Governing Board balances expertise in K-12, postsecondary, social services, workforce, as well as government and public perspectives.

Task Forces

During the planning process of the Cradle-to-Career Data System, state agency representatives and community members recommended that the analytical data set include information on workforce training to deepen understanding about ways that adults prepare for jobs and to identify how education and workforce training relate to employment and earnings. 

In 2025, C2C is preparing for this expansion by:

• Working with the Labor and Workforce Development Agency to identify priority research topics and the data points necessary to answer those questions
• Convening a task force of community members who are workforce data experts to identify additional priority questions and information required to answer those queries
• Facilitating discussions with state agencies to support the expansion of the P20W analytical data set

You can participate in this process by:

• Reading a memo from the Labor and Workforce Development Agency about ways to expand the P20W data set
• Participating in meetings of the task force or reading meeting summaries
• Attending Community Conversations about proposed additions to the P20W data set
